Dept. of Justice Sting Nets 94 People Charge With Health Care Fraud

U.S. Dept. of Justice Officials announced charges against 94 people across 5 states, in what authorities are calling the largest health-care fraud sting in U.S. history. Federal agents arrested defendants accused of cheating the medicare system out of more than $ 251 million, through false claims for services that were medically unnecessary or never provided. Those arrested included a number of doctors and health care firms owners and executives. The arrests came as the Obama administration announced that a crackdown on Medicare and Medicaid fraud will be a key part of its agenda on health care reform.
