Nobody Talks, Everybody Walks. Ohio criminal defense lawyer with nearly 40 years experience

“I was charged with the murder of my best friend, and held on a $1 million dollar bond. My family got Greg Robey on the case and he immediately started fighting for me. He found a forensic pathologist and a firearms expert to help my case. After a long battle with the prosecutors, I was freed. I can honestly say that Greg Robey saved my life!” -R.W., Warren, Ohio

The Growing Prescription Drug Crisis

The White House says that prescription drug abuse is the nation’s fastest growing drug problem, eclipsing even chronic issues with street drugs like cocaine. According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), about seven million people aged 12 and older used prescription drugs non-medically each month in 2010.Usage has only grown since then. Clearly there is a problem.

In Ohio, the Department of Health reports prescription opioids are the drug class most often associated with deaths caused by drug poisoning and are responsible for a sharp increase in drug overdoses in our state.

Prescription drug abuse victimizes those dependent on drugs not prescribed to them and creates a profitable industry for those involved in the trafficking and distribution of those drugs.

As an experienced criminal defense lawyer in Cleveland, I represent clients caught up in diversion of prescription drugs. Many people do not realize the seriousness of taking prescription drugs not dispensed to them by a doctor. Well-meaning friends who share or sell unused prescriptions do no one any favors.

  • Evidence. Was evidence obtained legally?
  • Witnesses or informant. Did credible testimony or tips lead to your arrest?
  • Charges. Are charges against you legitimate? Can charges be reduced or even dismissed?

In some circumstances, individuals arrested on drug charges in Cleveland may be eligible for drug diversion programs designed to assist offenders deal with their drug problem outside the criminal justice system.

Prescription drug abuse is a big problem. If arrested, you may understand that problem first-hand. Contact a good criminal defense law firm as soon as possible.
